During the lockdown, we looked towards nature for a sense of comfort and escape. This series of diptychs juxtaposes interpretations of nature and human form in dreamy pairings that evoke the longing for escape to those primal roots.
The title, Synesthesia, refers to the complexity of emotions involved in having been away for so long: we have intense memories of the sensuality of connection, but with distance those memories twist and dim until we aren’t quite sure whether it was taste or smell we found so delightful in those days.
